- Description: Large Green Kentucky Elk River - This big Elk River has Oblique Flaking on one side typical of the type. It has a base that starts with the core surface where the blank was struck from. It has nice symmetry and very fine flaking. - Description: TN Hornstone Elk River - Here is a Beautiful piece of Hornstone in the form of an Exceptional Elk River. This Elk River exhibits Oblique Transverse Flaking. (see photos) This fine Elk River has nice symmetry and form. The base was anciently snapped, but there is wear on the edges of the base, so this piece was hafted and used JUST the way you see it now.
