- Item: HS118
- Description: Kentucky Limonite (brown Hematite) Pendant - I am not sure if the material call is correct..... it looks more like Claystone, but the weight does not feel right. Limonite is also known as Brown Hematite. It is around 1/2 inch thick at it's thickest point. The hole was drilled from both sides and was slightly off making an interesting drilling (see photos). The hole shows "wear" from usage. This Pendant is well formed and attractive. I am selling this piece as "broken & glued". I cannot tell for sure, but it appears to have been found broken and glued back together sometime before 1940. This piece was purchased in a group of artifacts on a board which hung in Green's Filling Station on Harrodsburg Road in Lexington, KY, where Ramsey's Diner now stands, from around 1940 until around 1974. It was then purchased by Prewitt Breeze. Ex- Prewitt Breeze Collection, Ex- Monty Pennington

Beautiful Piece
- Description: Indiana Red Banded Slate Gorget - This piece was presented to me as being from Jefferson County, Indiana. It shows wear around the holes and several other features that you see on Authentic Slate. However, there has recently been quite a bit of this showing up as being from Southern Ohio. This should be a "rare" material. Because of too many pieces of this material suddenly showing up on the artifact market, We have removed this piece and will not be offering it for sale!
