- Item: FA166 Museum Grade Piece! - GREAT INVESTMENT
- Description: HUGE KY Sonora Lost Lake w/ 2 COA's - This HUGE Sonora Lost Lake was found in the 1970's by Marlen Kienle on the bank of Lake Cumberland. Mrs. Kienle would pick up rocks along the bank to take back to her rock garden in Louisville, Ky. She found this Lost Lake while picking up rocks for her rock garden along the bank where she kept her houseboat at Burnside Marina, in Pulaski County, KY. Joe Adams inherited the piece in 1996. It is made of well pitted and patinated Sonora Chert (see photos). The piece is very near 1st Stage having had only one or two resharpenings. This is a HUGE piece of Sonora. It exhibits exceptional flaking and symmetry and the base is well ground. It has a couple of ancient dings..... one near the tip and one a little back on one side. It also has a couple of side dings that are later ..... probably from lake action (see photos). Lost Lakes of this size and stage are very rare, and one of this quality and size from Sonora are extremely rare. A "handful" of beautiful Sonora Chert that is DEFINITELY an "investment grade artifact". This certainly
is one of the BEST examples of a Sonora Chert Lost Lake ever found! This fine Lake is slated to be published in the Fall 2007 Overstreet 10. It is also published in Central States, July 2005 pg 134. (Comes with both Tom Davis & Jackson Galleries COA's! (see photos)
