Pair of Bifurcates
- Description: Pair of Two-tone Central Kentucky MacCorkles - Here are a couple of MacCorkles that we are offering as a pair. They are greenish on the tip back to a bluish on the larger to a dark charcoal or black on the smaller. The larger of these I have always considered Sonora because of the purple that you can see come through in the darker material. The smaller may be the same thing or maybe a Hornstone.... I will let you decide. Neither pieces has ANY modern damage... the larger has two "spoke-shaves" made into the side & the smaller has been re-sharpened more on one side than the other. Because of the color, they are a "like" pair. If you like two-tones, then here is a nice pair for you.
- Size: "larger" 2 7/16 x 1 1/4 inches, "smaller" 1 3/16 x 15/16 inches

- Item: FA255 G-9 DAVIS COA
- Description: BIG Kentucky Archaic Bevel - Here is is HUGE Archaic Bevel from Kentucky. It is made of gray Hornstone that is highly patinated. The Base sets this piece apart. Davis calls it a MacCorkle because the WELL MADE base leans towards a large bifurcate. It may also fall in the "Thebes" category. I will call it a Large Archaic Bevel Corner Notch. This Big piece has great bevels from re-sharpenings. It has great symmetry and ears. This Big Archaic piece originated in the Hardin County, KY area in the Northern part of KY below Indiana. It was owned by Rick Merrifield and sold to a Lawyer in Hardin County, KY around 30 years ago. It went through the Kenneth Burke Auction. This Archaic Bevel is an all around "Great" BIG piece..... this one is a hand full! Comes with a Tom Davis COA grading it a G-9. This piece is pictured in the NEW Overstreet # 11 on page # 523.
