Archival Pieces Miscellaneous Artifacts pg 1
Item: FA209  RARE - HUGE   Papered G-10
Description: Flint Pick or Gouge - This a VERY large Dover or Fort Payne chert Pick or Gouge or Chisle.  I like to call this material "Fort Dover".  Both sides of this fine  6+ inch piece are Exceptionally ground.  (see photos)  The narrower end is formed into a "bit" about 1/4 inch wide.  The piece is very nicely flaked and a pleasure to hold.  It was found this year (2007) in Lincoln County, KY as a surface find on newly turned ground by Rodney Tyree of Madison County, Kentucky.  Comes with a Tom Davis COA grading it a G-10.  From our personal collection.
