Stringtown - This
Big Early Archaic Stringtown has taken that shape of a knife due to re-sharpenings.
It is nice and wide and thin for the size, with a very nice tip and
base that is slightly expanding and knobbed. It has
excellent flaking and form. It is made of a beautifully striped piece
of fossilifferous flint. I think the material may be
from Pennsylvania. It was found off the Ohio River by Jim Fleming,
Sr. Ex- Monty & Jewdy Pennington.

- Description: Colorful KY Two-Tone Bottle Neck Benton - Here is a Beautiful Bottle Neck Benton made of Caramel and Deep Gray Hornstone with very nice flaking. It was found in Estill County, Kentucky. I purchased this piece from the finder on Nov., 10, 2004. It has had 4 or 5 ancient re-sharpenings to the blade. Basal area is lightly ground. It was found in Missouri along the Mississippi River. One side of the base was anciently damaged and someone had restored it cheaply, so we removed the restoration. A very nice Dovetail as it is.
