Item: FP493    *NEW*    FLUTED CUMBERLAND - Triple COA's
Description: Fantastic Fluted Cumberland - This FINE Cumberland point was found in Boone County, Kentucky in a plowed field along St. Rt. 16/14, between Verona and Interstate I-75 by Charles Phillips.  It was found approx. 2 miles from Verona.  It is Fluted on Both Sides.  I has great symmetry and form.  Perino & Jackson say that it is made High Grade cream Boyle Chert, and Dickey says, "Seems to be Boyle Chert".   I have had many Paleo pieces made of what we refer to as "Paleo Boyle" and this does NOT seem to be it.  It has a backlit transparency around the edges that give a hint of amber, and with the material in whole, I Believe that it is made of High Grade Cream Carter Cave Chert.  It comes with 3 COA's (see photos)  Ex- Charles Phillips, Ex- Bill Jackson Collection, Ex- Thomas Rachels, Ex- Don Musser, Ex- S. Flanigan

Item: FP363    *NEW*
Description: Authentic Fort Payne Cumberland - Very nice flutes on both sides!.  Found in Jefferson County, Kentucky.  One side had been lacquered at one time, removed now.  This piece, for WHATEVER reason I cannot imagine has a little modern grinding on the  inside of the Auriculate bottom.  I have outlined the exact area in the extra photos.  It still displays well and is a very nice piece.  It blows me away that someone could not appreciate it for what it was, evidently with a rough bottom.

Description: BEAUTIFUL Fort Payne Chert Kentucky Cumberland - Here is a Fantastic Cumberland that is made of a Beautiful Mottled Fort Payne Chert in shades of Brown, White, & Cream.  It is fluted to the tip on one side and 2/3rds of the length on the other side.  (see photos)  It has a slight ancient ding to one ear ....... there is NO other damage to this Beautiful Cumberland.  This piece has never been offered for sale by a dealer before.  It was found by Cecil Phelps in 1970 while plowing a tobacco patch on Buck Creek in Pulaski County, Kentucky.  Mr. Phelps was an uncle to collector Phil Mize, whom some of you may know.  In 1974 he showed it to Phil who advised him to wrap it in a rag to protect it since he kept it in an old gift box with some other points.  It was acquired by Tony Simpson from Mr. Phelps who was also his wife's uncle.  This FINE Cumberland was pictured in Prehistoric America Number 3 in 1996 on page 31.  Don't miss the opportunity to own one of the prettiest examples of this RARE type of Paleo lanceolate. Comes with 2 COA's, BOTH a Tom Davis COA & a Dwain Rogers COA.  Ex- Tony Simpson

Item: FP103
Description:  KY Sonora Cumberland - This piece was sold to me as Boyle Chert, which was wrong.  I had the piece papered and typed as it should be.... a highly patinated Sonora Chert of gray & tan.  Tom Davis Graded this piece a G-6 because of the ancient damage to one ear of the base.  It is a beautiful piece, material wise.  If you are looking for a bargain authentic Cumberland, this is it...... color and all.  Ex - Pat Gains, Ex- Tom Davis, Ex- Monty Pennington
