Description: Fort Payne Chert Elk River - Here is a VERY NICE Elk River that is made of Fort Payne Chert.  It was found in Western Kentucky.  It has nice symmetry and shape and has Oblique Transverse Flaking that is found on outstanding examples of this type.    Ex- Hayden Bybee Collection

Description: Large Thin Snapped Base Elk River / Benton - This piece is made from highly patinated Dover Chert and was found in Graves County by J. Tanner Chambers.  It is covered up in deposits.  It is thin and has very nice flaking.  A deal at the price.

Description: Killed & Glued Benton / Elk River -  This fine Benton was found killed in Benton County, TN.  It has been glued back together.  It has very nice flaking and displays well.  This one could also be called an Elk River for it has the Oblique diagonal flaking.

Description: Needle Tipped Hornstone Elk River - This fine Elk River has beautiful Diagonal Flaking on one side with a needle tip.  The other side is almost uni-face with fine secondary flaking around the edges. (see photos).  The stem area is ground.  It is made of High Grade Hornstone.  Found in Southern Kentucky.  Ex- Monty & Jewdy Pennington

Description: Very Colorful Bottle Neck Benton or Elk River -  Here is a Beautiful Bottle Neck Benton with Outstanding Oblique Transverse Flaking. (see photos)  It is loaded with color, has excellent symmetry and is nice and thin. Description: Two Tone Sonora Elk River - Nice Color & Oblique Flaking on this Elk River made of Sonora Chert and found by Jr. Gowan.    Mr. Gowan hunted in Larue County & Hardin County, Kentucky near Hodgenville & Elizabethtown, KY on the Rolling Fork River Drainage and all pieces from his collection were found there.  Found by Jr. Gowan and from his Collection.  Ex- Jr. Gowan, Ex- S. Description: Large Green Kentucky Elk River - This big Elk River has Oblique Flaking on one side typical of the typeIt has a base that starts with the core surface where the blank was struck from.  It has nice symmetry and very fine flaking.  It was found in Lee County, Kentucky and is made of patinated St. Louis Green Chert.  Personal Collection of Monty Pennington

Description: TN Hornstone Elk River - Here is a Beautiful piece of Hornstone in the form of an Exceptional Elk River.  This Elk River exhibits Oblique Transverse Flaking. (see photos)  This fine Elk River has nice symmetry and form.  The base was anciently snapped, but there is wear on the edges of the base, so this piece was hafted and used JUST the way you see it now.  Found in Humphreys County, TN.  Ex- Monty Pennington
