Harrison - Found in Rockcastle County, Kentucky. This Turkeytail
has very nice symmetry and flaking. It is made from Hornstone that
has a "bulls-eye" of lighter material in the side. (see photos)
The base is ground which would probably date it to Late Archaic/ Early

- Description: Highly Patinated Early Copena Classic
- This Copena has near perfect symmetry. It is
lightly serrated down both blade edges. It has VERY NICE
flaking. This is an early Copena and the hafting
and basal area are lightly ground. (see photos).
There is an ancient "burin" fracture about 3/8 of an inch long
from the tip down one blade edge. (see photos) This
is a Fantastic Copena that displays very well and has great
flaking for the type at a bargain. It was found in Humphreys County, Tennessee, by William Stafford. Mr.
William Stafford passed away in 1974 and the news print that this collection was wrapped in was dated in the early 1980's. Ex- William Stafford Collection, Ex- Tom Davis, Ex- Monty & Jewdy Pennington

It is well flaked and shaped with large percussion flakes shaping the sides up both sides. It has polish on the bit from where it was used.
