- Item: FM135 *NEW* PICTURED IN OVERSTREET #10 TOM DAVIS COA - G10
- Description: HUGE KENTUCKY FORT ANCIENT TRIANGLE - Here is a HUGE Fort Ancient Serrated Triangle made of Hornstone. It was found in Kentucky. It measures JUST under 2 3/4 inches in length. Most Fort Ancient triangles that you find are between 3/4 and 1 1/4 inches in length. When the break 1 1/2 inches they are unusual. When they break 2 inches, they are RARE... when the top 2 1/2 inches... well......! This Fine example is pictured in Overstreet # 10 on page 397. It was Papered by Tom Davis, but so far, I have been unable to find the paper. It is listed in Overstreet as a G8, but I would call it at least a G9. It has classic form and symmetry for the type. It has a fine tip and is serrated down both sides and nicely thinned at the base. This is an outstanding example and would be a center piece in anyone's triangle frame. (** Have found the COA, .... graded a G-10 by Tom Davis on June 27th, 1995. However the size is wrong on the COA stating that piece is 1 3/4 inches when in fact it is 2 3/4 inches in length) Ex- Tom Davis, Ex- R. Durham, Ex- Monty Pennington
